On June 28th, I did my first book signing at 12 Gates Brewery. What a great way to meet readers, answer some interesting questions about how I came up with the story and sign books. A number of people took advantage of the free craft beer, and new readers purchased the book for their summer reading. 12 Gates was amazing and such great hosts. If you haven’t tried their craft IPA, it’s worth a stop out to Williamsville to try it, and see their great summer beer garden.
What I love about doing this types of events is that I get to truly get to know people. It’s not a quick signing and on to the next. I can sit and find out about you the reader; for example, I met one woman who lost her husband five years ago and will be traveling to a favorite European city of theirs this summer in his memory. He was a professor of culture and history and she said Finding Morgan would be exactly the type of book he would have wanted to read.
Yet another, wanted to give it to her teenage daughter who is struggling with some low self-esteem issues. Morgan will definitely be able to help her as she herself struggles with those issues and it’s hard to find yourself in the midst of life’s challenges.
I like listening, knowing people, not just talking about the book. I have a number of other book signings coming up, as the dates get solidified, I will post them here.
I want to say thank you to all my fans, readers of Finding Morgan. It’s because of you that I am able to write these stories and do what I love so much.
The adventure continues in Book 2! Stay tuned for further announcements on publication dates.
