Compeer Event to Feature Buffalo Bills Alumni Donald Jones
Compeer of Greater Buffalo is proud to announce its partnership with former Buffalo Bills wide receiver, Donald Jones, to help promote their upcoming annual Fall For Friendship Celebration and Bills Bash! party. Jones, who left the Buffalo Bills in 2013 to play for New England, has taken a stance on the importance of mental health and the relevance that it has had in his career and life. His newly released book, “The Next Quarter: Scoring against kidney disease” discusses how his physical health impacted his mental health. Donald is also currently the co-anchor of the John Murphy Show.
The Fall For Friendship Celebration will take place on Saturday, September 23, at Larkin Square. It will feature an array of fall-themed foods and drinks, as well as provide a fun and friendly social atmosphere; all are welcome. A “Friend of the Year” award will be given to a Compeer volunteer who has dedicated much of their time and effort to Compeer programs, and a “Partner of the Year” award will be given to a local organization that has had a strong impact on Compeer and its programs. Proceeds from this event will support crucial mentoring programs for those served in the WNY community through Compeer.
The celebration will start at 6:00 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m. Individual tickets are $95 each and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com. Compeer’s mission is to use the power of volunteer friends and mentors to improve the lives of children, adults, and seniors who are striving for good mental health and optimum quality of life. Founded in 1985, Compeer is an evidence- based mental health program that serves hundreds of people in Erie County annually.
